Ronnie Doesn't Own ANYTHING, Especially Not the R and R

There seems to be some confusion about Ronnie's assets in the world of Digital Spy.

Let me clarify something for you. Succinctly put, Ronnie doesn't own jack shit. She certainly doesn't own Jack. When she leaves prison, she'll own the clothes on her back and precious little else.

In a thread on Digital Spy about Sharon, it's mooted that she's a partner, along with Phil, Janine and Ronnie in the R and R.

Not true.

Here's the history and the low-down:-

Originally, the R and R was owned by Jack, Ronnie and Roxy, who owned a small share. In 2009, Ronnie sold her share in the club to stand Sam Mitchell's bail, which she lost, when Sam left Walford. Ronnie sold her portion of the club to Jack. So, from 2009 until roughly 2011, the club was owned by Jack and Roxy, with Jack being the majority share owner.

In 2011, he sold his share of the club to Phil Mitchell, so now the R and R became a family business. Remember when Roxy tried to use her position as a share-holder to assume management of the club, only for Phil to instate Shirley? Later that year, Roxy sold her share to Janine.

Got that?

From 2011 until 2013, Phil and Janine owned the club. Somehow, Roxy's miniscule share had ballooned to roughly 40%, when originally, the share split was on the order of Jack 45%, Ronnie 45% and Roxy 10% - but then, as Bryan Kirkwood stated, maths was never EastEnders' strong point.

Earlier this year, Phil signed over 19% of his shareholding to Sharon, telling her that's as much as he could give her, without Janine becoming majority shareholder. So the split is now Phil 41%, Janine 40% and Sharon 19%.

Ronnie owns nothing.

And further to that, Digital Spy resident Shirley-shipper and loon monalisa is confidently putting the meme about that Phil "took back" Sharon's share of the club when she returned from visiting Michelle because of her drug dependency.

Not true, however much monalisa's fevered Shirley-shipping braincell might want otherwise. Phil's transfer of shares to Sharon was a legal transaction. He signed over the shares to her, and she owns them now. That means they are hers. Mona, you dumbass, if someone signs over ownership to you of anything, it's yours. The only way - the only way - the person who signed over ownership can take it back from you is via purchase.

Phil just told Sharon, upon her return, that she could work at the club, but she couldn't manage it; she had to defer to him and Janine. He said nothing about taking back the shares he'd legally transferred to her. Simply because he couldn't. They are no longer his to take. He would have to buy them back from her, or she would have to sign them over to him; and she couldn't be made to do that.

Actually, what Phil told Sharon didn't amount to a row of pins, because we're still seeing her acting in a managerial capacity - she was there in that capacity the night Joey had his run-in with Carl - and she's always had to defer to Phil and Janine, because they are the majority share-holders.

Got that, everyone? Sharon's still a share-holder, and Ronnie owns nothing.

  1. You're right about the Ice Queen owning nothing. However FYI Ronnie was buying a nightclub with Joel at the time Peggy needed money to pay off Sam's bail. Ronnie called Sam a "liability" but in the end used this money to pay off Archie.

Roxy bought Ronnie out of R&R in 2010 but I can't remember why. Then she sold it to Janine in 2011.

    Keep up the good work.

  2. Thinking on Ronnie may of sold out to Jack in 2009 in order to buy a nightclub with Joel but ended up paying off Archie to stop him moving in with Peggy following him posting Sam's bail.

I distinctly remember Roxy buying 40% of R&R in 2010 either from Ronnie or Jack? Just can't remember the reason.

It's laughable if anyone is saying Ronnie has a stake in R&R as she doesn't. She either sold to Jack in 2009 or to Roxy in 2010. And Jack had already sold his share by the time they divorced so she didn't get any there either.

The whole set up of Ronnie's return is ludicrous. Also would she have been allowed to move abroad while on probation?

    1. Good point about the moving abroad. You're right. She wouldn't be allowed. Ronnie got four years. She's out on licence after two. Like Bianca, any crime she commits within those two years' remit, she's back inside. Therefore, she'd have to be within the country and within contactable distance of her probation officer, whom we'll never see.

  3. Phil and Sharon own the club at the moment. Phil owns 81% and Sharon owns 19%. Phil bought Janine's share last month so that she could flee the country with her daughter, Scarlett. Ronnie and Roxy are currently MANAGING the club but do not own any shares. GOT THAT?????????
