To the Divs on Digital Spy: Alfie Is NOT a Racist.

The stupidity of some people who watch EastEnders astounds me. I wonder if DTC exploits this stupidity for his own end or if he willfully employs plots to show up the innate stupidity and shallowness of the core of the EastEnders' 2.0 crowd.

First off, Alfie is not a racist. He and Aleks are both white, European males. Alfie counts Patrick as a close friend. If anyone might show racist tendencies, it's Aleks. Racism and bigotry against Afro-Caribbean people is rife amongst Eastern Europeans. Think back to the European championships a few years ago in the Ukraine and Poland, whose supporters regularly make monkey noises at black and Asian footballers.

Secondly, Alfie isn't even xenophobic, or as kitkat71 says "zemophobic." (See what you're dealing with, Dominic? How can they debate when they can't use a dictionary?)

What Alfie is, however, is desperate, and a lot of that is down to Aleks, who isn't lilywhite and isn't even the victim in this instance.

Remember that Aleks has a pick on Alfie. It was Alfie who discovered that Aleks, in a relationship with Roxy, actually has a wife and child in Latvia. In fact, it was Tamwar, who willingly hacked into his boss's computer to find proof for Roxy's doubt.

Then, when Aleks tried to deprive Alfie of a pitch, Alfie went over his head to complain to Aleks's boss, who agreed that Aleks was out of order.

Finally, Alfie did what everyone of us has done at some point. He pulled a sickie. He followed the established procedure and rang in a sicknote message to the line set up for this. Tamwar was logging the message, when Aleks deliberately wiped it, using the purported no-show as an excuse to deprive Alfie of his livelihood. The amazing thing is that Tamwar suddenly lost his moral courage and played along with the lie.

Was Alfie wrong to say what he said to Aleks? Yes, but Aleks was wrong to pocket Bianca's and Kat's pitch fees. He was wrong to allow Bianca to sell spray tan for a cut of the profits, and he's wrong to be sleeping with dimwit Roxy with a family to support back in Latvia. What happens when his wife and child show up?

Alfie isn't perfect by a long shot, but Aleks isn't any angel.

Get your bloody facts straight.
