Kat and Alfie: Some People Are Just SO Obtuse

A sage posits, with absolute conviction, the following on Digital Spy Soaps form, commenting about Alfie and Kat:-

Can't believe people think Kat & Alfie will be getting back together. It's just not going to happen so don't worry about it. They've done the huge break up, Alfie's moved on, well at least for the time being. I can't imagine they'll be together during 2013 at all.

Luddites, please! Try not to be so stupid.

When an established couple in a soap break up for good, as in definite, one of the pair always always always leaves the programme. Karen McDonald left Wetherfield. Jackie Corkhill even left Brookside.

Is Kat going anywhere? Is Alfie? The answer is no. Therefore, a reconciliation is definitely on the cards. And I mean, definitely.

The whole reason she's hanging around the Square like a bad smell is to proved Alfie with emotional conflict. He'll be torn between Roxy and Kat. It's Lorraine Newman's stated position that her priority is to repair Kat and to reunite her with Alfie. She wants Alfie in the Vic and she wants him happy. There's only one thing that will provide that - reuniting with Kat.

And why will this happen this year - specifically Christmas Day, 2013? Because that's Alfie's and Kat's tenth wedding anniversary, that's why.

And please, don't patronise me by pointing out that (mimics high-pitched supercilious voice):-

Well-Max-and-Tanya-and-Bradley-and-Stacey-split-up-and-nobody-left-the-programme.

I know. They got back together. Like yo-yos. But guess what? Bradley died and Stacey left. And now, Max and Tanya really are going to split ... and Tanya's leaving the show.

Kat and Alfie will split when one of the two decides it's time to move on, all right, from the show, or when we have an Executive Producer with a set of balls hard enough to wield an axe where it needs to be swung - in this case, in the direction of Jessie Wallace.
