In the episode thread on Walford Web kindergarten, people are commenting on and wondering why storylines at the moment are so ... so rushed.
I mean, Joey and Lauren kissed once, fucked and now fell in love after only saying a handful of words to each other - 99% of which were unintelligible when uttered by him.
Ian got sick, then got better with what appears to be a minimum of counselling.
It's as though we've lolled along for the better part of the year when suddenly ... Hey, Christmas is just around the corner, best get the storylines done and dusted.
I mean, even the Children in Need effort had a last-minute cobbled-together effect.
Why?
I'll tell you why things are rushed and storylines done and dusted in the batting of an eyelid.
Because the audience to whom Lorraine Newman is aiming this shit has a low attention span and very low intelligence level.
