Dumbass of the Week Award goes to all of those people on Digital Spy who are taking Alfie Moon to task because he happens not to be so happy at finding the slut he married is cheating on him with another man.
Why?

Because these people are so fucking literal and have so fucking little common sense that they take, ver batim, Alfie's figurative "permission" last year for Kat to shag around just as long as he didn't know about it.
Are these people so damned dense that they don't understand allegory or any figure of speech? Alfie, when Kat did her dirty girl soliloquy last autumn, was speaking rhetorically. It was done for a purpose, with the tears (which were genuine) as an affect. He wanted to show Kat how much her behaviour hurt him and, at the same time, how much he truly loved her - simultaneously, shaming her to the core.
Any person with a heart would have been hurt to the quick and would never have strayed again, but not Slut Slutter.
The people claiming that are like those dumbasses who don't understand that with freedom of speech comes the responsibility to use tact and discretion, so that when they're smacked in the mouth for offending they whine about their rights. Well, when you marry, part of your vows state that you "forsake all others," which is what most normal married people do.
In nine years of marriage, Kat's been unfaithful to Alfie a total of five times - roughly, every two years - and one of those infidelities was with his cousin, whose son Alfie is raising as his own.
In nine years of marriage, Alfie's been unflinchingly faithful to Kat. Roxy handed him the opportunity to respond in kind to Kat's infidelity and he knocked her back - his reason? He was a married man.
So, yes, even when someone figuratively gives their spouse "permission" to shag around, they credit their spouse with a bit more common sense than to do such a thing. As several of the commenters on the thread have pointed out, adultery is one helluva big deal and one of the cruellest things a person can do to his or her spouse.
Dumbass of the Week collectively goes to those people commenting on Alfie being a hypocrite ("hypocrite" has an "e" on the end) or thinking that Kat's done nothing wrong because Alfie gave her permission to misbehave. These people are just showing their extreme youth or their extreme stupidity ... or both.
