Allegedly, patrons are reluctant to return after fumigation, and that's understandable. Of course, all this is meant to add strain to a marriage already fucked up by Bryan Kirkwood, and - thus - give Slut Slutter all the more reason to cheat on Alfie.
(Personally, I think that the more the Vic's finances are drug through the mire, the more reason TPTB will have to install Ms Rickman behind the bar once again.)
However, the big mystery is ... how the hell did the fleas get in the Vic in the first place? There are no pets, unless they came as part of a dodgy deal Big Mo was concocting. One thing of which you can be certain, in the anti-male dynamic that's currently the stuff of Walford (unless, of course, you are a Branning), Alfie is sure to get the blame.
Well, I'd blame Kat. First of all, she's named after an animal and cats always have fleas. Secondly, she behaves like a bitch on heat, so she's probably brought the critturs back from her latest conquest, most likely from his little love dive he's established.
