Well, it's obvious she's never taken a literature course, because in every form of literature - written, aural and visual - a character's backstory is always explored. Our past is what we are today, and it certainly affects our future. By catsmeow's interpretation of Life-Being-for-The-Present-The-Past-Doesn't-Count, any and all paedophile could easily obtain work in a junior school.
Oh, and I guess the French Revolution never happened because catsmeow wasn't around to experience it. And because the past really isn't that important, it's ok for characters to go round and round in circles because they'd never learn from any mistakes.
So here's the Ignorati of the Week award to catsmeow, because - hey, why worry about the past when we can just judge indiscriminately?
